Let’s have fun and help our seniors have fun too. Social distancing and masks are required (if you get out of car or near seniors) to protect our seniors. We appreciate your cooperation and participation.
Please bring your classic car or street rod to Lowe’s parking lot Sept 3rd at 1:15 PM to form a car parade.
The parade will then drive from Lowes to Somerset Retirement Home parking lot at 2025 Tibbetts Drive (near OBHway Dairy Queen and OBHway Fibre Credit Union) to entertain seniors at Somerset.
After entertaining seniors at Somerset, the parade will then drive to New Westside Terrace Retirement Home at 1200 17th Ave (behind 15th Ave Safeway) to entertain seniors at New Westside Terrace.
This activity and your participation are important to our seniors during normal times, and even more important during COVID times because in Summer 2020 our seniors aren’t getting their usual summer field-trips and outings.
Safe outdoor activities with social distancing (and masks required) are essential for keeping our senior’s quality of life as happy as possible during summer 2020 while also keeping them safe from COVID.
You’re making our seniors lives better. Thank you for your participation!

We have fun at Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living Longview WA!
Due to a very busy June schedule, we won’t have time to update Somerset website’s June blog (senior news, senior activities and events, photos and videos).
However, our June blogs are current and up-to-date at our Somerset Facebook site (Posts section) and our Somerset Google Places site (Updates section).
Please click a link above to view our June blog.
Note 1: In July, we will resume updating this Somerset website blog (and will continue updating our Somerset Facebook and Google blogs as always).
Note 2: Our Facebook blog is updated 1st (several times each month) and is our most current blog, followed by updating our Google blog when we have time, followed by updating this website blog if we have time.
The weather has been beautiful this May week of Mother’s Day. Some of our seniors decided to take advantage of the weather by eating lunch outdoors on our patio. They turned their lunch into a nice outdoor picnic and enjoyed the weather, our patio, and beautiful backyard and pond. Our dining staff served them on the patio. Other residents (who don’t like sun) chose to eat indoors. Everyone got to enjoy their preferred place to eat on this beautiful day!
We enjoy life at Somerset Senior Living Longview WA!
Our residents enjoy many senior activities each week, often several per day. One of our regular activities is our seniors fitness classes several times each week.
This week our seniors participated in a YouTube fitness class they watched using one of our community room’s projector TV. Our activities director (Denise) gets her exercise participating in the classes with our seniors.
We have fun staying fit at Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living Longview WA.
Thank you dedicated staff for your hard work, caring, and perseverance.
Thank you residents’ friends and families for your understanding and cooperation with our COVID prevention measures. As is the new normal, please call before visiting Somerset.
Since the situation can change, calling us before visiting is the best way to keep your senior friends and relatives safe, as well as the rest of our seniors and staff. So far our prevention measures are working. No one at Somerset has COVID.
If we continue our careful policy regarding no visitors (except for special circumstances with mask and temperature check) we hope to continue having healthy residents and staff. By being careful, we’ll all get through this.
Thank you to everyone – Somerset Administrators Mariisa Bond Jimenez and Eric Rosgen.
